Luta Rising Pinot Noir 2021 - 14%

A weighter expression of Pinot Noir. Destemmed and fermented in stainless steel for 6 days then pressed and finished fermentations in tank before transfer to a mixture of old frensch puncheon for maturation. Aged on fine lees for 10 months before racking, blending and aged a further 6 months before bottling in October 2022.

Big and bright fruit, plenty of violet and wood character comes through too. Medium + bodied with plush medium tannin. Leaves a powerful impression this wine.

Exceptional value wine. Can be enjoyed now or cellared for 3-8 years.

Luta is another project of Rob and Kate Burley based in Nelson New Zealand, Unkel Wines being the original. This range is focused on two different single vineyard sites providing distinct, pure terroir expressions of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The wines are handled with care and are given longer time in barrel and bottle before release versus their Unkel Jester Range.
